The next part in the endless saga of Starr's Health. Today, the narrator will be portrayed by Geena, also known as That-Roommate-Who-Is-Not-Kelly.
Starr's been admitted into the hospital. It's best, really, since they'll hook her up to an IV of the good antibiotics and be able to actually fight this thing. And she'll already be there if anything happens. She already seems a little better. I'm on my way to bring her some books and all. We don't know how long she'll be in there, but we'll keep everyone posted.

To elaborate a bit on Starr's previous post: She has MRSA. She was fine when she went to bed Wednesday night, woke up with a boil on her jaw Thursday morning, and got steadily sicker throughout the day. She picked me up at five, and we saw the doctor, who diagnosed her, did a culture, drew blood, shot her with antibiotics, and prescribed antibiotics. We were home by seven. She took pain meds at about 7:30, and started throwing up shortly after. By 10:15, she was still throwing up, she was cool to the touch, and she felt much, much worse, illness-wise. I called her doctor, who suspected she'd gone septic and told me to take her to either Urgent Care or the ER. Urgent Care was closed, so we hit the ER. After a short wait, we were back in a room. She's still there, and Geena's gone back to be with her (she brought me home). She's on her second IV antibiotic; she had an allergic reaction to the first. Hopefully, she will not do that with this one. The nurse (who is, btw, extremely hot) is unsure of whether she'll be admitted or not. If not, they'll be home by about 4:30 AM; if she is, then obviously she'll be staying and we'll update for her. This has been an update brought to you by subluxate, aka Kelly.

I got my hair cut yesterday. It was way too long and it was hot, so I wanted it sort of like this. It came out like Pete Wentz. Stupid hairstylist did NOT LISTEN TO ME. It looked decent yesterday, but I'm thinking that I was in shock. I hate it now. Oh God, I hate it so much. Oh well. It grows, right?

Photos will come later, as they're currently on my roommate's digital camera and I don't know where her cord is. I made this cake for her ( sunsetsinthewes) birthday. This is altered from a recipe in one of Kelly's cookbooks (the original recipe was an orange cake with Grand Marnier sauce). This recipe calls for a springform pan, as it will collapse if you don't have one. I'm not going to lie to you--due to the fact that you actually have to make a meringue to go into the cake, I'd call this one Intermediate to Advanced. (Any time a recipe calls for cake flour AND meringue, you know you're in trouble.) ( mmm cake )Will be edited to add photos later.

Okay, so I work for GEICO, right? Well, we have a promotion going where I get money and prizes every time someone gets a rate quote from GEICO and mentions a certain promotional code. This only works on phone calls and there's no obligation to buy insurance with the Gecko.
If you're interested in helping me out, here's the info:

As many of you know, I like to sing. I like to think (and those who know me can correct me if I'm wrong) that I sing well.
...my dog HOWLS AT THE MOON every time I even half-sing a tune. Not to the radio--JUST TO ME.

Easter. I spent it going to early morning Mass, then to David and Sara's for eating (and such good food and company). The weather is bloody amazing down here this time of year and Geena and I took a blanket outside and spent the afternoon reading out in the sunshine. She's reading Jeeves and Wooster and I'm reading A Game of Thrones, which I've started before but never finished.
How'd you spend yours?

I'm not striking with LJ. I honestly don't care one way or the other. If the service dissatisfies you, leave. If you like it, stay. Being butthurt about it doesn't solve anything. This sums up a lot of it (courtesy of hardvice and oh_mumble) ( a brief history of lj )I personally like the text lj one.

KELLY PITTMAN IS ON FUCKING NOTICE. (Context: We're watching New Amsterdam from last Thursday and a character mentions the cliche about fat people being happy. Kelly asks me: "Are you happy?") Which brings me to my next point. ON. FUCKING. NOTICE. ( on notice )

Okay. So there's this TV movie called Banshee that is Aussie and looks pretty bad. However, it's got an actor named Mike Lombardi in it that Kelly and I love. PLEASE. If you can find this movie somewhere, we can arrange payment. And possibly our first born children.

So. You know how people can look like their dogs? I think that Mark Wahlberg in The Departed is a weenie dog--he's short, stocky and barks like he's ten feet tall. Comparisons: Thoughts?
